Ocean + City Competition

OCEAN CITY, MD

After the catastrophic flooding of Hurricane Sandy, a competition was held by ONE Prize called “Stormproof”. The purpose of the competition was to generate new thinking around coastal resiliency against future storms like Sandy. As a team we worked to create a strategy and future vision for Ocean City, Maryland. The design relied heavily on realizing a naturalized dune buffer using new strategies for soil stabilization, ecotourism, and energy resiliency. While our team did not win the competition, we were recognized in a Gizmodo post about the competition.

Design
As a core member of the design team, and the 3D designer, we helped to shape the project.

Development
Various elements of the design required scripts to expedite design and visualization of the project including the web of walks, soil retention system, and inflatable barriers.
